Since the weather has started to warm up from the cold spell the geese are really flying. Pretty sure they aren't locals either. Must have counted 200 geese today. We did manage to get 4 geese and sailed two that we couldn't find. Went on others property and they won't let you retrieve them because they are their geese. SMH. The deer were in our alfalfa field and cleared some spots that worked great for setting the decoys in like they were feeding. Thanks deer!! Hopefully we will get out a few more times before the snow goes away.

Nicely done. One of these days I'm going to waterfowl hunt, but I'm afraid what will happen once I do go.

Waders, boat, blind, calls, dog, different guns, different chokes, duck decoys, goose decoys, water decoys, field decoys, other than that you probably have all you need. Lol Oh and a few more decoys.

I've got some decoys that I've been trying to give my ice fishing buddy, George Clooney, but he hasn't taken them yet. They're new. Some things a guy just can't give away.

Not to worry the two that got onto your neighbors property were probably banded.

Had up to 100 geese a day on the lake. Have not seen them at all in the last week or two. But the lake is now frozen.

I think my wife would leave me if I spent more money, time and another activity/hobby. I guess I need to stick with golf, fishing, turkey and deer hunting. One more, beer brewing hobby. I would love to hunt doves, ducks and geese for the frying pan.

When it comes to field hunting geese late in the year. You CANNOT have to many decoys. We have been known to put out truck loads. 2 or 3 truck loads.

I'm currently sitting on the porch of a state park lodge in Ohio listening and watching all the geese land down in the middle of the lake where the only open water is. Pretty neat to watch.

We modified our ground blind for the snow we have which is melting fast now. We did good on Christmas eve. IIRC that brings us to 27 for the year.
