Started crossbow hunting this year with Horton Storm RDX. When I sighted it in September (with a scope) it was real warm out. Now, in late archery season, it's below zero. Will the point of impact change because of the drastic temperature difference?
By the way, using a crossbow is GREAT! My eyes are getting old, so it's nice to have a scope. And it cocks with a crank so my draw shoulder is not sore like with using a compound bow.
It's fairly heavy, and second shots are slow, but altogether archery hunting is much easier. Hits out to 40 and 50 yards are routine. With my Mathews, 40 yards was dubious (for me).

One should practice all season anyway. Correct on "second shots". Try as I might I did not get my Storm recocked quick enough after my crossbow limb hit the tree and launched the arrow ten foot up a tree. The bucks stuck around for awhile, but not long enough to recock..

I went out yesterday for an evening hunt and after freezing my rear off for two hours, when I got home I shot an arrow to discharge my Mission MXB 320 and at 35 yards it hit where I was aiming. The bow I'm sure was also freezing it's rear off to. It was sighted in 3 years ago in the 90 degree heat of June. I don't think you should have any problems at all with a big temp change and POI.

What made a difference for me was shooting from my stand, and the broadhead that I use. I was a bit surprised. Now I sight it in from the ground, but adjust for my stand. When I come home to decock it, I use a field tip bolt and know where it should go. I guess I check it everyday that I hunt.
