Well guys, I received a early Christmas gift from my son yesterday evening when I came home from shopping.
My old Lab Magnum is slowing down. He's about 12 now. But still retrieves and does a fine job. But time is catching up.
So when I came home I was greeted by a 4 month old Black Lab with a big red bow around his neck.
So I guess "Tuff" will be the next generation of my retrievers.
If I can get him to hold still I will get some pictures.
Maybe my "other" son Jon Snow will post them. Lol

Had another nice shoot on geese yesterday. Hunted a field and ended the day with a 7 man limit of Canada geese and 1 Speck.

Hornzilla did you ever hunt ducks at Deep Lake down at Greene Sullivan state forest? I am pretty sure I talked to you years ago there and you helped me identify a duck I had shot. That's been at least 15 years ago or so.

Use to hunt it several times a year. |

My dad called today to say there were at least 100 Canada's in our field where we hunt geese.
Going out tomorrow to give it a go.

Drove by the field the ducks and geese are usually in here in Avon. There were some geese, but not a field full like usual. Three guys were hunting the field. Just laying in their blinds about 300 yards from where all the geese were. Just missed the X on that day.

We were on them again today. 1 shy of a 4 man limit. Should have limited. We lost a swimmer today. Couldn't even get it on the other side with the dog.
Was a nice hunt, small groups in the decoys. Was done by 11.
