I think that I'll just hold on to my license. It'll still be good next year.

Hope I didn't miss out, almost pulled into Rural King yesterday but thought it was early. I'll definitely stop in after class today.
A few years back I happen to show up as a guy responsible for clearing it out was holding a price gun. That was a fun trip.

M4, im new to archery and need some help. What is the difference between a 400 spine and a 300 spine, other than stiffness?

That's the only difference. 300 spine is for heavier draw wgt than a 400

My 65 lb draw sighted in for 400. I bought some 340 and their off. I'd recommend 400. I have a dozen 340s to get rid of don't ask length Dicks sporting dude did a number on them. Their all around 28" and some change but not all alike...

That's the only difference. 300 spine is for heavier draw wgt than a 400 Dave, that being said is it safe to assume that someone who shoots 50 lb draw might normally shoot something closer to 300 while a 70lb draw shoots closer to 400? (Im sure im generalizing but im curious if my logic is on track)

Lots of thing affect an arrow's spine (stiffness) -- arrow length, fieldpoint weight, speed of the bow, draw weight, etc. That's why arrow manufacturers have charts that you use to determine your correct arrow spine. I myself use a computer program called OnTarget2 ( www.pinwheelsoftware.com/sfa.aspx) to help me choose the exact spine for me. I can change various parameters on the software and see changes in my spine. Here's an explanation of arrow spine: eastonhunting.com/making-sense-of-arrow-spine/

In general terms.

The spine number is actually a measure of deflection( bend) in tenths of an inch of a shaft with a 2# wgt hung in the center of a shaft on a 28" span...... Or 26" span with slightly different wgt depending on method used. Something thereabouts, don't quote me exactly on that, been awhile lol
