How about we post up conditions and harvests?
12-7. Mostly sunny. 25 degrees. Wnw wind at 5 mph. Decent morning on a small creek. Got 1 woodie amd 3 mallard drakes.

Nothing up here in LaPorte county,making ice all the skinny water will be frozen by Sunday the last day of the duck season.

Chicago news had a story about a large migration of Sandhill cranes yesterday as they passed over the Chicagoland area.
Today numerous small ponds have frozen over with last nights temps in the low 20's, I found some new ducks and geese and hopefully they will stick around till Saturday when I have my Grandson over for the entire weekend.

Sandhill cranes have been flying over Henry County today. And I saw where 2 whooping cranes were spotted at Goose Pond.

Sandhill cranes have been flying over Henry County today. And I saw where 2 whooping cranes were spotted at Goose Pond. I have a friend who could just sit and look at me all day without saying anything. We went on a skiing trip once and I thought that I'd just not say anything to see how long he would go without uttering a word. Well, I couldn't wait that long; it was killing me! I had to start talking. He's a good listener though. |

Right now I don't even think about going out till 10 or so ...I've got lots of deer between 10 and 2 ....When the sun starts warming things up the deer are moving ,more times than not ...After about 30 seasons That little bit of observation slapped me upside the face , Soooo now late season I put it to use ! Think I'll put a Blackberry pie in the oven then go
