Looking at options to upgrade from the stock scope on my Excalibur.
What do you all shoot and would reccomend for an upgraded scope?
I don't think I need illuminated but would not rule it out.

Love the one that came on my tenpoint. I would think these days they would be close in quality by price range.

I've seen the 10-point scopes, and don't like them. I've used a Barnett scope with lighted reticles for a while and don't like it either. The reticles are too close together and the lighted reticles give you light blindness in low light. My personal favorite is the scope they put on the carbon express cx-1. They put a very similar scope on the SportsAuthority bows. I'm currently using a Horton base model 4x30 scope. Trust me the simpler the better! The zoom functions and the scopes that light up take away from your picture quality! What I prefer is a scope with excellent glass that is anti-fog! The Horton gives me that but I myself am in the market for a carbon express basic scope.

The tru-glo scope and the Excalibur scope are NOT favorable to me either.

Here's the reticle pattern I like+ the carbon express has "dots" between the crosshairs for 5yard increments which is awesome!

If your crossbow has at least 5 crosshairs you can sight your first one at 30 yards then 40, 50, 60, and 70

Hawke XB-30 is hard to beat for the money. They have updated the XB 30 since I got mine. I got mine here at a very good price. Think it was around 150 bucks, but it was a close out deal they are around 250 I think now. Hawke has one of the best warranties in the business. I have purchased a lot of supplies from Wyvern Creations and he will do you right. He has many different brands of scopes to choose from. www.wyverncreations.com/

ended up with the nikon bolt. Great glass and very clear. Perfect fit for my Excalibur Matrix crossbow
No illumination though. Only downside I see to this. Glass will be bright enough to get me right to legal shooting if not longer in the evenings and right at legal shooting light in the mornings
