Wanted to give a tip to Barnett/Crossbow users. I shoot the Barnett Raptor 340FPS? with CE Pile Driver bolts and have always shot a 100 grain tip. I realized that the bow speed and the weight of the arrow were matched well but I did not have enough weight on the front end. I picked up some 125 grain tips and it is MUCH MORE ACCURATE! And consistent. A lot less "flyers"

I just got him some nocturnals illuminating nocks and they are heavy for his xbow. We had to adjust for elevation. I was surprised actually as they didn't feel very heavy, but really glad that we checked before he took a shot at a deer. It does shoot well, and accurate. Barnett has come a long way in the past few years. I'm happy to see all the improvements that they've made. However, I did like my quad. It was very heavy, but got the job done. I gave it away and broke the bank on a tenpoint.

I had a quad a few years ago, good crossbow, no complaints.

I've always shot 125 grain mechanical broadheads in my Quad 400 and it is very accurate. Never tried 100 grains. The Quad 400 is a good crossbow, my only complaints about it is that it is a little on the heavy side and it doesn't quite fit in the Flambeau or Plano crossbow hard cases (scope sits too high).

Its a little noisy also, but so is my tenpoint.

That's one thing I like about my Excalibur, supposed to be quiet. I think it is loud...

I use a Barbett quad edge. I love that bow. It's about a quarter of the weight of a quad 400 but basically the same design only modernized, and about the same weight as the Barnett recruit compound. This bow they made the limbs more narrow than the 400 AND lightened the draw to an easy 125lbs as well without compromising speed! I'm Bulls-eye accurate out to 70 yards with this bow. And the most genius invention on these bows is the "risor" it allows me to get perfect sight picture on my scope every time!
