Since I live in the upper part of lake county , there is a great chance that the area that they pick could be in the southern part of Indiana ? Or will they choose a place near you ? Raymar said that they'll pick an area near you, but I just can't remember what happened when I signed up. Me being in the middle of the state; I didn't care where it was. I guess I signed up for the date, but I was just trying to pick one spaced out away from my other hunts.

Most of the areas are in benton and white County I believe. They are all farther north as pheasants rarely are seen in the south. The town of fowler and surrounding area has quite a few as does around Attica I believe. You will be given a map and can Google Earth the area you are given. The parking areas are very well marked the two I have hunted.

They assign areas based on draw and not where you are. Some areas are smaller and they allow you other areas as well to accommodate that are close.

They actually allow Deer Hunting on these areas but you have to be drawn to do so...

I have seen deer both times including a nice buck on a December hunt that was truly a stud. I wondered if they allowed hunting as I saw lock on and wondered if someone was allowed to hunt them.

I had a great time on the pheasant hunt!! Whitetail1 and nfalls went with me, and I sure do like these guys.
It was nice of nfalls to let me ride piggy-back for most of it. He wore ear plugs.

How birds you guys jump up Jon? I think 4 total but they were pretty intelligent birds busting out way ahead of us and the dog.

Could u walk through it barefoot and not have your toes out of the dirt?? You should not see any green ,just in fire breaks .Food plots should still have seed and standing cover !! Did the Warm season grass look like mine only not as thick?? that should give you an idea what it should look like .

Did the Warm season grass look like mine only not as thick?? that should give you an idea what it should look like . My toes would not be in the dirt ...yours??? The only green was in the fire breaks, and they planted clover there. When they went to the grass, I was done; I just couldn't go anymore. It looked broken up to me, but nice rolling area with plenty of places to hide. I think a hen got bumped up there. When we turned on the road, Whitetail1 said, "Oh, that looks nice." Some stuff was taller than me, but I didn't think it was too thick.
