Do you blame Bill Gates when your computer crashes, Henry Ford when your truck breaks down. I can only do what I can do. not exactly, but people blame their parents for their failures all the time.

We need to be sure we talk Dave into going. Figure that way if we don't get any rabbits out, we can still get a good deer or fox or coon or possum, field mouse, what ever race going. Are we hunting on Noah's ark ? Talk about a mixed bag of game , 😳

Have a buddy that's supposed to be tagging along but that's up in the air.
Ran my new pup with my older dogs all weekend and he finally packed up. He definitely has some speed to him but he runs way to clean of a line right now. He picks up quite a few checks and blows out with them. He stretched it out on the pack a couple of times, at least until my blue dog caught up. He doesn't seem to mind the bumping of my blue dog. Hopefully he will loosen up as time goes on. He straddles the line and runs with it but gets left behind running to conservative. Going to brace him with just my blue dog and see how he does. Can't be mad though. He is young and what I'm getting out of him at his age is impressive. Doubt I'll bring him on the hunt as I doubt in going to get much shooting over him until then. We'll see how he progresses until then. Sure was a beautiful weekend to be running. Seen some fresh scrapes opened up and several deer. We did jump a deer and the pup thought he might want to open up and see what it was about but he had a change of mind when I hit the button. Wasn't really wanting to run it, I don't think. Was the first time he ever smelled one. Them yellow dogs sure do show up blood if the get cut though.

Are we going to start hunting at 9:00 in the morning or some other time ? Up to you guys. I'm just along for the ride. Dont think much earlier than that unless you wanna listen to dogs bark for the sake of barking. Frost gives em issues tracking but again, makes no difference to me.

Have a couple of places I used to hunt that we'll give a shot. Also depends on where the deer hunters are on where we can squeeze in.

Any chance you have a tracker small enough to put on Bella? Don't know if she will get out n hunt or just bark at all you strangers lol she's weird that way

Was wondering if y'all would like me to set up a google document for this? We could all put names and phone numbers so everyone can get in contact on the day of the hunt and get a head count. The document would be accessible to anyone. Happy to do so if it'd help!

Used to be Jim Richey in greenfield, but I assume he's long passed....been twenty five years or better since there last time Only place I know guys get collars from are online shops. I don't run any on mine. Had a buddy lose a dog that got hung up and choked to death. After that scared me. Ill have an extra tracking collar if ya need to use one. You have the Tek 1.0 don't ya? My new set will be here by this weekend. I've ran them on my pup and they are a bit loose but they fit just fine. Hopefully Bella and Fred do something. I am struggling to get something put together. Everything has gone to heck in a hand basket the last couple of days. Nothing but a train wreck. Dogs popping off that have never done it before, babbling, mouthy in the check, over running the check, bumping, over competitive, zero hunt, zero heart, zero speed, zero drive. I have no idea what's going on. I'm on my 4th different pack trying to mix stuff up to get something going. Took my pup and striker, Fred's brother, out yesterday. Jumped a buck rabbit and striker hammered it for 295 yards straight line to the sink holes. Pup no way could keep up. Got them back together, they hunted for about 15 minutes and both sat down and just stared at me. I like that new pup I have but he is just way too conservative for my liking. I hope he loosens up but I talked to the breeder and that line is known to be conservative. They are flat rabbit dogs, nothing flashy, but definitely not barn burners. We'll see how it turns out. Hate it because he definitely is 100% rabbit dog, never had one this early show the ability he is, started at 3 months and can circle on his own. I just not sure about the drive aspect he shows. He might be going to someone for a pet if I can't get a bit more out of him
