Anyone ever shoot a red squirrel with a bow? Sounded like it swallowed a squeak toy. I was tempted! I'd recommend small game heads if you're gonna do that. Puts a stop to the squeaking real quick and you won't lose an arrow as easily

Reading all this really has me missing opening day! But, I have customers scopes and other items to dip today so that comes first. Doing adult things really stinks sometimes! LOL! I'm at work for 12 hours if it's any consolation I wondered if you were out today. I like following your hunts! Good luck when do make it out buddy.

Well JDUB just told me what it was; 2 coyotes-they headed his way after ruining my hunt. Man I hate those things!

Come on guys! I need a fix. First time since I started bow hunting in 2006 that I'm not in the woods hunting.

I'm out. Successful hunt when you pass up an easy shot, in my book anyway. One more week of work and it's 2 weeks off for fall break. Hoping for a temp drop for at least part of that two weeks.

Nothing for me and Treydog this morning. I think we under-dressed a bit. It got a little chilly when the wind picked up.
It was foggy too. I figured the turkeys stayed on the roost a little longer this morning.
We'll be back out later today.

Saw one doe at 840. She didnt quite get close enough before cutting up the hill. Farmer said 5 does were feeding in his yard at 620 when he left. I'll be out later in a different spot.

My view of creek bottom also had standing corn field edge and oak trees dropping acorns. No movement with the swirling front and east wind. Lots of food.
