Done with expandables! Rage fail. Shot at a doe and I think one of the blades came loose when I shot and it spiraled down a way right. I could see the arrow in flight like it had a mind of its own. So I picked up a pack of muzzy 3 blades and one of the tops are not cut to screw on the trocar tip!!!! Aaahhhhhhh!!!! Bad start to a season I prepared so hard for

Bummer; always believed fixed was the way to go. Muzzy is a fine choice.

Muzzy or stinger buzz cuts are great choices. Good luck!

I gave up Rage broadheads a few years ago and went back to fixed-blades (Slick Trick). Don't get me wrong, I killed many deer and coyotes with them. I just couldn't get pass-throughs.

Picked up some muzzy mx3s. Going to sight in tonight and head to the woods. Shot the muzzy and did not fly like field points, low and left like always. But, I did get the bow sighted in to 40 and nice groups. No failures with fixed blades. Time for these heads to see blood.

I too tried rage a few years back and did not like them, too flimsy and did not get pass throughs and ended up with broken arrows. They are fine on good broadside shots but I was not confident with them. I went to Magnus stinger 4 blade due to the lifetime replacement warranty. I am trying the Magnus black hornets this year, they fly great and look wicked.

I have taken deer with the rage and liked them but fail me once and in the trash they go! Guys before me killed deer with only fixed blade heads before expandables came along. Happy with Muzzy. Slick tricks are next when I have more mula.

You can adjust your rest and/or nocking point to get field points and broadheads to share the same point of impact: www.archerytalk.com/vb/showthread.php?t=1606741I use the above method to do so, then I ditch the field points. I only practice with broadheads, then I change the blades out for new ones before season.

I will take care of that October 1st! Lol I hope Oh young fella, it's very possible that you'll still be waiting on Dec 1st. Last year was a very tough deer season for me, and I was actually glad to see it end. I was beat. Some years are like this, and some years it seems so easy. This is hunting and we just take the good with the bad. I have five good shooter bucks (for me), that we certainly will not pass on, but it will take the Grace of God to see one of them when we're there hunting. We know they're in the area, and have been all year, but... All we can do is the best we can do and be in the woods as much as possible without them knowing we were there. If not for the overwhelming desire to breed, we'd never see a buck in the daylight unless he's still hanging around mom. This great sport will humble a hunter, and that's a good way to be.

Earliest ive killed is October 3rd. Last year actually. Passed 2 smaller bucks that morning and shot 1 of 2 doe that came thru later that morning. Usually its not until mid October before i start seeing deer on a consistent basis.

2014 I shot at a 10 pointer the evening of opening day. Ended up 10-ringing a 2-inch tree. My jaw dropped as my lighted nock appeared to stop in midair as it sailed towards the deer's vitals. I got down and cut that tree down! However, 6 weeks later, I end up shooting that same 10 pointer the day before firearms season opened.

Yes I am fully in tune with how it goes. just a little sarcasm. I'm hoping for the best but I know the reality is I could get skunked no matter my preperation and time spent. Nonetheless I will enjoy every moment of it.

Going back to the woods monday morning, hope to take a doe then. Hit one the 15th but not good enough. Killed last year on the 16th so I'm behind schedule. Monday hopefully is the day for a doe.
