I'm hoping to get out to Willow Slough this weekend . I plan on leaving Saturday morning when I get off work . I'm going to Bass Pro Shops on Friday to pick up some Steel shot for Doves and use the same shot for Squirrel . My meals are going to be cheap and easy . I'll sleep in my Jeep . Then do a little Fishing while I'm there . They are calling for Rain this weekend but I'm still going to head that way and take my chances .

Thanks , If it rains to hard then I'll head home . The weather looks like rain Friday and Saturday but sunny on Sunday . They are calling for 50 % chance on both days .

Sounds like the rain is either a hit or miss on Saturday. And on Sunday they are still calling for sun shine .

I'm out in one of the Dove fields with no competition and no doves to be seen . I have my Mojo dove decoy and 21 clip on decoys . The sun comes and goes

The 12 gauge roared for the 1st time at 1:15 pm , but I missed , I haven't shot much in the past few years .

Seen a total of 3 Doves in about 4 hours and was only able to get 1 shot off . I did end up seeing another hunter wearing a leaf suit , he was just walking from a different field . I packed up a little while later headed back to camp and cooked me some Brats & Kraut for an early Dinner . Then the bordom set in and took a nap . I left in the morning without getting a hunt in . There were some waterfowl hunters there , All they said that they got were a few Blues ( I'm thinking Blue winged Teal ) I'm off 2 Fridays from now and that weekend , I'm thinking about going out again , not sure for the weekend or just the day .

with the heavy breeze not bad out in the field , at the camp site they were kinda bad until the winds came and the rain stopped then the skeeters stopped flying it seemed . The bathrooms were real flushing bathrooms which was nice .
