Is the state planning on conducting testing in other counties than the one they found TB wild in? IS there any plans to have an early / or longer firearms season in the effected counties? From BOAH.. "Under federal requirements, finding TB in a free-ranging wild animal means testing of all cattle must expand from 3 miles to 10 miles and surveillance in hunter-harvested deer will intensify. For cattle owners in Franklin County and portions of some adjoining counties, BOAH staff will be reaching out to determine if cattle in the 10-mile circle are test- eligible and, if so, schedule herd testing. BOAH’s premises registration program has approximately 400 farms registered in the 10-mile testing zone. " It appears to me that deer will be required to be tested within a 10 mile radius of the farm. A certain amount of sampling is needed to be representative. If the number of deer samples does not reach that level then the DNR, through an emergency order, can extend the season in those counties AND/OR bring in paid snipers.. All this is a major undertaking and I ask all the members on here that hunt in the affected area to help out..

The undertaking will be completed by the BOAH and the Division of Fish and Wildlife. Please visit the facebook link below and see what they posted as to the procedure that has been established. www.facebook.com/INfishandwildlife
