Bob Hayner the captain of the Eagle Eye walleye charter boat we fish on told me the following story this past week. This spring they boated a walleye that had a radio transmitter sewn into it's belly this was placed there by the Ohio DNR in an effort to track the travels of walleye, the return of this transmitter payed Bob $100.00.
That same week they also boated a walleye with a Michigan DNR fin tag so Bob e-mailed them the numbers and within an hour he was contacted by phone and asked to verify that number again, it turns out that was a male walleye that was 6 years old when tagged in 2002 making that fish 20 years old.
