Yep; there was a discussion back when they implemented that policy (for a good while we did buy and sell firearms on here) about moving to a different provider but it was decided that we would live with it rather than loosing all that was already on the site and trying to get everyone over somewhere new. Neither Woody or the Mods like doing it but we have to enforce it so no firearms or any of their parts can be posted here.

dbd870, I think either Woody or the mods need to contact Pro Boards then, and not assume. I did and they (Pro Boards) said that there is no prohibition against selling any part of the firearm that is not regulated by ATF. I can copy/paste the e-mail that I received if you want, but I suggest contacting them for clarification like I did.
I asked them if I could sell brass, gun barrels, stocks, or any other part of a firearm that was not regulated by ATF and they said that those things would not be considered prohibited content and would be O.K to list for sale.

That's great news - we need Woody to give us direction and change the forum rules.

I asked on the ProBoards support referencing this thread and an admin there posted back -
"Hi. He is incorrect. I've asked for clarification on this as I wasn't sure either. This is not allowed."
Can you copy the email to me At asats@wowway.com ?
Thanks WW

Since I filled in the form on their website, I don't have what I wrote to them, but in their reply is the "ticket number" so they should be able to look up what I asked about.

I've an emailed to their department that handles the online questioning for clarification as there seems to be a conflict. Hopefully they still have your questioning email on file. I'll let you all know when I know...

Definitely communication problems between their departments. You would think that their abuse department would know what is correct and what was incorrect, but I was told wrong. Hey woody, what about if I test it and see if ProBoards has a problem? I can throw up a barrel for a 10/22, you can delete it, and I can report it to the abuse department.....

That's great news - we need Woody to give us direction and change the forum rules. If I am in the market for anything "Firearm related", I just go to a site like www.auctionarms.com and look for the needed part. If I see a rifle or shotgun, I wish to purchase, this auction site and other such sites are good places to find what you need.
