Everyone should find out more about the guy that going to be nominated to the US Supreme Court. I just read a note that he is very much the opposite of Scalia. He might want to over turn the current law on guns in the home. His name is Merrick Garland. And he sits on the DC appellate court right now. If he is anti gun then Obama made a mistake in appointing him and I predict that the GOP will fight this nomination tooth and nail. The NRA hopefully will rise up and fight this nomination with all it's might.
I don't like this guy if he wants to stop me from having guns in my home to protect myself. Anyone that can't understand the words, The right to bear arms SHALL not be infringed, is a fool.

He hasnt had very many monumental rulings. If i remember correctly, he tried to push for an appeal of the DC gun law ruling, or something of that nature.
Some articles claim that he is a moderate, but i feel he is more left

What are your sources on this? I researched him earlier trying to find his stance on guns and didnt come up with much other than him recommending rehearing a case from a lower court.
Guy seems pretty middle of the road to me but might lean slightly left on guns .... cant find anything to support that but it is my gut feeling.

As soon as I saw he was on the District of Columbia Appellate Court I knew that he would be anti-gun....that was a no brainer.
Hopefully the Republicans will stick to their guns and not make any back seat deals to let this Barry pick get confirmed....but I'm not about to hold my breathe on that one either!!!!
As far as what any media sources are saying you have to remember this choice is just now hitting the general public-I'm sure there have been a lot of advance media "cleansing" to make this guy "look" to be moderate....JMHO

Until today I dont think the NRA had ever commented on him .... of course after he was named they came out against him but I want to know what, specifically, they are basing their opinion on.

It was a rehearing on the DC gun ban decision. The only reason he would ask for a rehearing on that case, is if he didn't like the outcome, which we all know was good for gun owners.

It wouldn't matter if he was the second coming of Charlton Heston, Mitch McConnell has already said anyone that Obama nominates isn't getting a hearing...

^^^^^^^^THIS. Doubt they even interview him. Which might backfire if Hillary get's elected as she probably will recommend someone younger and more liberal... Republican's have to win or not going to be good.

Hillary will grab the guns by executive orders.

A rehearing of a lower courts decision...not the Supreme Court decision on the case. Once cases are settled through the SCOTUS its pretty much a done deal. No rehearing. No appeals. Very, very, very rarely a reversal.

Tens of millions of folks have lived in Chicago in the last 60 years .... implying all of them are bad apples is pretty narrow minded.
