Shot this buck on the morning of Oct 2nd. I was working 3rd shift and got home right at first light and decided to sneak in to my stand. When I got to about 50yds from my tree I saw this buck walking directly underneath it. Over the course of the next 10minutes of so we both slowly worked towads each other until I finally got an open shot at 35yds broadside. He went appx 20yds after the shot.

Nice job 3pt! Totally different ballgame when you are on the ground stalking them! Way to go!

Nice buck! Reminds me a lot of my buck from '97. Just curious- have you taped it yet? I pulled the tape on mine and came up with ~110" gross. Yours looks to be slightly longer tined, so I'd guess around 115"? Not sure if I measured mine correctly or not though, so I could be off on my guess by a little (or a lot!).

DanF- I think mine will only only go 105" or so actually-maybe 110 if hes lucky. The picture makes him look a little bigger than he is. He measued 15" inside with the longest tine being only 6" or so.
truth be told, i should not have shot this buck. he is the smallest buck(in indiana) ive shot in 3-4years but i got a little caught up in the moment. since him i have had 5 good bucks -125-140"-in range including a 130" 8pt that I have had 2 shots at in gun season. One of those shots was yesterday evening when i happened to walk within 30yds of him bedding down facing away from me... this year has definately been a learning experience for me....

I don't remember all of the measurements on mine, but it's somewhere in the 17-18" inside spread range, and the longest tines were ~5-6". It had *great* spread, but not a lot of tine length. Yours is a nice buck, and I certainly wouldn't be unhappy with an arrow through him! Got mine with a shotgun, and he was the biggest buck I'd seen in our woods at that time.
