BIG BUCK.
Question what is going on with the bucks right ear? Looks like it is damaged or has a hole in it? (I'm not saying it was a livestock tag, but it almost looks like it.) Do you pics on the mount yet?

The deer was a wild deer. I checked it in at Scott's Ace Hardware opening morning of gun season last year. I think it netted in the high 180's as a Non-typ.

Looks like a tear from fighting or a run in with a fence.

Congratulations on a really fine deer. It's knowing those big dudes are there, which keeps it interesting.

I think it's actually a gun shot through the ear. If you put the two tips together where it's torn it make a perfect hole like a slug went through. I'm not sure about that but that's what it looks like. I still don't have the mount back but as soon as I do I will post a pic.

A slug hole would have been my guess too.
Was it healed over?
BTW - GREAT DEER!

You know how these deer are today......earrings, tattoos..... He probably had a hoop pulled out while out 'clubin' one night.

I have live in Scott Co. for 38 years now. Cville, I think a friend of mine scored your deer, Matt Smith?

He sure did. Matt is a great guy and I'm glad to have gotten to know him a little.
