By the antlers he looks like he has some whitetail blood in him.

the DNR rep that checked my deer in thought it was a hybrid. It was all mulie except the body size and the rack definitely resembles a typical 8pt whitetail as it did not have the double fork of a mulie.

I hunted the Missouri Breaks in North Dakota where whitetails and mulies co-existed. They had numerous hybrids taken in athat area.
A biologist told us that the whitetails would eventually take over as they were much more agressive breeders. Even with the mule deer does..

I've seen quite a few mulie racks like that with a fork in front and a single tine in the rear, plus short brow tines. I wouldn't say it is anything unusual. Fun hunting those mulies, aint it ! Wish I could spend a couple weeks at it every year.

Wish I could spend a couple weeks at it every year. I've seen them too, but this one doesn't look forked. It just has a tine growing of the beam. Mulies are fun and different..

Yep thats a cross bred buck....part whitetail and part mulie....nice, trophy in my book.
