Six coyotes six muskrats and a mink. I know they are not worth a lot but this was the first year I put them up myself. Still fun and neat to do and thinking about my grandfather who was a very good trapper.

Looks like a good put up to me! Call me crazy, but I always enjoy putting up my own fur,it is a sense of pride thing and,IMO,shows real commitment and desire for the best possible outcome! Very nice!

Thank you. I still have a lot to learn but there definitely is some pride in putting it up. I actually really enjoy it and those were some very good coyotes for this area. I cant seem to manage growing decent bucks but i can manage good colored and well furred coyotes. My friend and I are self taught from just watching hoosier trapper videos and talking to them. It is amazing how much better you become with some practice.

I'd say you had a good season. Congratulations!
I got 10 coons and 4 opossums off my food plot top land in January. I've pulled the traps until next season. I think I put a good dent in the turkey egg eating critter population.

Jon, if more folks would take the time to reduce the egg eating critters in our outdoors game birds might stand a chance. Delta Waterfowl has been doing extensive research on controlling egg eaters and the results are amazing. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

I never understood the fuss about wearing fur. As least you are using the animal instead of just killing it because it's a nuisance and tossing it in the trash like most suburbanites do. I didn't think much beyond that, but a biologist I know also pointed out that fur is locally grown, environmentally friendly, sustainable with managed populations, biodegradable and 100% organic. Can't imagine anything more hippy friendly than that.
It's one of my biggest pet peeves about waterfowl carcasses, most of the time it's just safer to toss it out in the compost pile and let it rot as opposed to doing some neat crafts with the feathers that might get you busted by Fish and Wildlife for something trivially stupid.

IMO god made animals for us to use and not abuse. I never thought about it that way chubwub, I like that. Locally grown! Nice pelts there raymar.
