This is the buck I shot in gun season Nov 2005. He weighed 200 pounds field dressed nice heavy rack. I thought he was an eight but turned out to be a 7 point. He had his nose to the grround scnet trailing a doe when I took him at 40 yards, heart shot. He went about twenty yards and piled up.

That is a fine looking buck... I would've guess 220 pounds field dressed.
Do you have any pictures of the deers brisket? I see he has some discoloration there... and I have taken a couple deer with some very interesting markings between their front legs. Just wondering if you noticed anything odd, like stripes or marbling of white/black/brown in that area of the bucks pelt.

No unusual markings. My son shot a nice 10 pt. 130 inch deer in bow season last year. His buck had a double white spot, one on the throat like you typically see in whitetail and another directly below it. My taxidermist says since he's be doing taxidery, nearly 35 yrs. this was only the second one he'd seen with the double white spot. I'll have to post a picture later.

Yes I have seen some double-throat patches myself. I killed a doe that weighed 132 pounds in 2001 (Biggest Doe in County that year) and I shot her BECAUSE she had the double throat patch... turned out to be a whopper... never killed a buck that way, but I have seen some as my brother is a taxidermist also. Looking forward to the pics:

Are you sure that buck in the first picture is dead? It looks like you can see his breath!

Good call metamora! Sure looks like that buck's breathing to me too!!! This wasn't taken in a high-fenced area and it was just drugged till it was tame enough to pose for pics was it? Nah, that's not Jimmy Houston in the photo.......
