I have been looking at some blueprints for a DIY john boat blind and I wanted to see if anyone had a frame or a blueprint they used? Lots of PVC frames is what ive found so far and that is looking like the cheapest option. I have a 12ft V bottom so it doesn't have to be anything crazy.

That's awful sharp! I was looking for something with a little higher coverage but that looks like a darn good alternative.

Here's some pictures of mine as I was building. I wish I had a picture handy of it finished because I ended up changing it so it wasn't so high and the opening wasn't so big. Feedback form others on duckhunter.net was that it was to high. I would suggest looking on duckhunter.net. I don't think PVC is strong enough. Mine is conduit. I used a friends conduit benders so that saved money.

I like the collapseable feature on it but agree that the opening is too big...unless you brush it in heavy from the sides and bottom so that the grass covers it. It's hard to judge how it looks until you see how low the boat sets in the water. My husband went for a removable metal frame that opens on the top. It's about 4 ft high but he has a pretty deep bottomed boat.

With the collapsible sides you are able to adjust the sides to the height you need at the time.

I think I might rework mine. I like this more and more. Too many projects this year, but I'll put it on my list ...not that I would ever use it. LOL

It so low now that when I'm sitting my head hits the tarp. The roof flips open.
