I just got my lamps back from a good freind an long time customer. I traded him a 5 gallon bucket fo antlers for 2 lamps. The antlers I got for free, customers that didnt want theirs over the past few years. Total cost 0$ ;D If you want to check out some more of his work you can look at it at antlernaturesway.com/

cool lamps !
i just made one for the first time myself using a pair of sheds that someone gave to me.
it is absolutely no fun at all drilling antlers..............but the end product is nice.

OK.. I've considered doing this with some of my old antlerss.
How does one go about drilling them for the wire?
Is it a special flexible drill?

I too wondered how he made them. After some close inspection, I noticed some holes filled in with antler puddy. It looks like he just used a long straight bit, and drilled holes as long as possible that intersect with one another. Looks like a time, and labor intesive process that requires some patience. But the end result is quite nice looking.

Here is a lamp that I did myself last year with sheds I found. I only had to drill two wholes. I simply used super glue and leather straps. Seems to be holding up pretty good to me.
