I hunted snow geese for the 1st time last year in IL, and that's the limit of my waterfowl experiences. I own property in Crawford County, IN with lots of frontage on Bogard Creek, which dumps into the Little Blue River. I also have a neighbor that would let me hunt on his small 1 acre pond. I realize from reports that no one is having much luck this year, but in general, which is better, a small pond or a forested stream? The stream is rock lined with no vegetation. If ponds are better, that would give me more incentive to fix the pond someone tried to dig on my property, but it won't hold water due to the karst topography.

Thanks for the advice. Finally got back out to my property and tried walking the creek a bit; but most of it was frozen. Guess I need to wait for warmer weather.

Wood ducks = early season They are usually the first ones to head south. So you need to try them in the beginning of the season.

Still shooting a few but usually by thanksgiving most are moved out. The little blue should hold plenty of locally raised wood ducks in the early part of south zone season. Get out a few mornings before next season and scout it out at first light and I'll bet you will figure it out pretty quick. Good luck! If you need help let me know. Would love to find some more horn stone for flintknapping .
Take
Tracy
