This is the first coyotte I've ever taken. She came in tonight while I was out deer hunting. I shot her at 5 yards. I'd seen her out there a couple times, but this is the first time she offered a shot. I was pretty pumped up. ;D

Good job dec. It is a wonderful feeling taking a 'yote with a bow, ? With no doubt in my mind the coyote is the smartest and wariest animal in our state. Congrats. Hoosier.

Coyotes will see you quicker than any animal out there.
Good job.

Congratulations! It took me over 15 years to kill a coyote with a bow. They are so fast and detect danger as fast as a Turkey. It's a wonder any bowhunter ever scores on yotes! I've even missed them with slugs at 20 yards! They are wonderful game to hunt, I thank God for the opportunity.

Great yote DEC! However, shouldn't you be wearing a face mask?

Nice job Dec! I'd mount it whole body in a howling pose, or even just a pedestal mount of it's head and shoulders.

Nice work. I've been busted those stupid things 2 times trying to shoot them with a bow. A buddy of mine shot a yote and a gray fox in 1 day last year while bow hunting, he is a lucky guy just like you. CONGRATS. Another buddy shot on this year and never found it he just gut shot it and it ran into an unpicked soybean field and he tracked it for 2 hours and then realized he is wasting valueable stand time on a dumbass coyote! CONGRATS!
I'm with BSUTRAVIS get that bad boy mounted doing something as that is a quite an accomplishment.

Man, how did this old photo get pulled back up? That was last fall. Still one of the my highlights as a bow hunter. Unfortunately, I did not have it mounted or even save the hide. I blame it on my buddy who one upped me that night. That same night he shot the 153" buck that many of us had been chasing. So, shortly after I took this photo, I went to help track his deer. The song dog ended up in the back of someone else's pick up truck. In all the big buck excitement, I forgot about my dog. The other person ended up disposing of the coyote over night. Oh well, I'll just have to shoot another one!

Nice shooting. That is difficult at such a close range, because like someone said they have very keen senses. I killed one up with a .41 mag last year, but thats the only one I have shot so far.

Nice job man.
I would offer this advice for anyone shoooting them with a bow. Try to break both front shoulders or these things will run and hide and are very hard to find. I am not an expert but this worked for me.
