So as I posted elsewhere, this was a poor season for us. I'd like to do some habitat work on my place in preparation for next year and wondered if anyone could recommend some books I could read. I'm new to land ownership and certainly habitat management so looking to learn.
Thanks.

on QDMA website and forum. TONS of info from a great group of people who are food plotting and habitating (LOL is that even a word?)fools! Dr. Jim has a great e-book out on habitat. extremedeerhabitat.com/Jeff Sturgis is another great source and has a book or two, www.whitetailhabitatsolutions.com/where are you located swetz?

A friend of mine who has some ground in Parke county has done an early spring property walk on his 60 acre deer hunting slice of heaven the past two years. He has done some amazing things with it habitat wise and you could see first hand all that he done during the walk. I assume he will be doing it again this coming spring.

I went with Huntmeister last year and can't wait to go back if he does it again.

Was that with Jim Ward? I saw a youtube video of something like that and wondered if it's what you're talking about.

Yes, Jim Ward was at both of the property walk through and he is as I understand it the "architect" of all the work that has been done on that property. Jim Brauker, aka Dr. Jim, put the video together of this years walk and I believe that is what you probably saw. The property owner, Andy, has a website as well that documents much of what he has done. www.allthingswhitetail.com/index.html
