Yesterday Saturday Nov 28th 2015 was the opening day of waterfowl season in the South Zone of IN. Anyone have any luck?
I've seen a few ducks flying around the area the past week or so but not in great numbers. Most waterfowl that I've seen are Giant Canadian Geese and we have a lot of them around these parts. |

I am down in south west Indiana, ducks are few and far between, we have locals, but no migrators that I have noticed yet. Looks like it will be late migration this year with this warm weather. The birds have no reason to move, to warm.

Hopefully its better for me tomorrow out on Lake Monroe. I couldn't go out this weekend due to work.

I'm in NW Indiana and nothing has been flying around here, duck wise.
I did see 1 small flock and one large flock of snow geese last friday.
We were out deer hunting and my dad heard them on Sunday and said yep those are snows.
So if there are snows up here where I have and my dad has never seen them before who knows whats up with the ducks.

West central Indiana along the wabash sees a good number of snows and specks every year.

Hunted a couple days this past weekend on the southern edge of the central zone...no ducks worth fooling with yet around here. We have plenty of local geese as well though.

That is what I am after. A good goose hunt. I have not shot a goose in 3 years due to back issues. Hoping to get out and try to do some goose hunting this season, if we get the weather to bring them down.
