I tried to do a euro mount today. Wow it is a long process. I only have to use the peroxide on it now so the hard part is done. I did break the tip of the nose off but was able to piece it back together. Thus the rubber bands. We will see how it turns out. The dental pick my brother in law suggested worked the best.

You can get some clear epoxy and put inside on the nasal bones to hold them together. I wrap it with rubber bands like you did before I epoxy them. Looks like you did a good job cleaning it up.

Better than I did! I got most of it but ran out of light yesterday. The back side still has some meat and grissle to remove. Top looks good though.
Good job. Are you going to mount it on anything?

I did mine the other day in 3 hours tops. I used sodium carbonate (Arm & Hammer Super Wash) for a little over two hours and then placed the skull in HOT water with dish-washing detergent and used my air compressor / blow gun to "boil" off the remaining scraps and get the grease out. The air boiling will greatly speed up the whole process.

Doesn't take me that long. I stick it in the pot and boil for an hour, then use a pressure washer to blast all the meat and flesh off, blast out nasal, blast out brains, etc. Then hang it up to dry for a day or two. Repeat process, boil for an hour and a second pressure washing usually gets it pretty darned clean. Then pick off any remaining bits (there won't be much) and hang to dry for a day or two.
To whiten, I buy a kit of stuff girls buy to bleach their hair blonde with. Mix it up and paint it all over all skull and teeth surfaces and let set on there overnight. Rinse, dry and repeat process until it is the level of white you like.
The pressure washing is nasty, wear a cheap rain suit and face mask if you have one.

steiny...how in the world do you boil it and pressure wash and not destroy the nasal bones and stuff?

I pick out the brains before I boil, greatly reduces the mess and the grease.

I usually put mine in a pot in the garage on an electric heating element for most of a day or over night. After a few hours, I hit it with a wire brush and knife to remove anything still hanging on. I remove the brains thru the whole at the back of the skull. I did these while removing the dash to replace the heater core and evaporator core on my 2002 grand Cherokee.

Pressure washer works great. You have to be a little gentle on those thin bones at the tip of the nose, but I've had no problem so far. Did my bow kill and it looks just like raymars.

Use 20 mule-team borax soap and it only takes a couple hours. Cook it in it for couple hours and wash. Keep temp right on the edge of boiling. Meat and skin etc turn to jelly and washes right off.
