www.in.gov/dnr/fishwild/8499.htmIndiana's very first Otter trapping season is open. The 2015-2016 river otter trapping season is from 8 a.m. Nov. 15 until noon March 15, 2016. The bag limit is two otters per trapper per season. There is a maximum of 600 otters for the season. If the 600 quota is reached prior to March 15, 2016, the season will close. A valid Indiana trapping license is required to set traps for river otters. This success story was made possible by restoration efforts in Indiana and other states in the lower Midwest. Federal laws require each otter pelt to be tagged before it is sold, which will be new to most Indiana trappers. Visit the DNR website for more information.

I was thinking of making a couple sets for river otter, but not sure if my 220 conibears are large enough?

I was thinking of making a couple sets for river otter, but not sure if my 220 conibears are large enough? I have trapped LOT of otter, one of my favorite followed by bobcat. The 220 in otter trails is my favorite set followed by 280 under a dive.

I saw where there is an on-line check in for the otters like deer. Is it updated every minute? Is it county by county? Do you have 48 hours to check one in? Just kidding. Wonder if turkey will be 100% online also

The Otter population is really growing that is for sure. I've seen some in Muscatatuck NWR, and at Big Oaks NWR
