I was speaking with a friend last night, he had called to touch base, and he mentioned recently purchasing a Ten Point crossbow. As he is a devout bow hunter I inquired about this. Apparently, he is so enamored of his new purchase that he is selling his compound, claiming not to need it anymore. He really must love that Ten Point!

I thought the same for a while but I'm back to using a compound. Will walk the xbow when it's too cold to pull back my compound due to clothing layers.

I've been hunting when I can with the x-bow and not bothered with getting a new vertical bow. But, since I've been invited to Colorado for Elk, I will have to go get one and start practicing for 2016. The x-bow is nice because once it's dialed in, just a few practice shots are needed to verify that it's still dialed in. Not so with the compound.....

I made the switch a couple of years ago to a crossbow. Now I focus on practicing with my traditional gear. I hunt with both during the season. I have some stands set up for close shots and some stands set up for longer crossbow shots. Once the rut heats up I mainly use the crossbow.

I still love my strother wrath, but find myself hunting mainly with my Xbox these days. I find myself so busy I can't devote the time to practicing as much as I'd like with my compound.
