Could use some advice. I got a Remington 597 .22 for small game. It came with a decent scope and all in all I really like the gun.
Only thing I'm having a problem with is the studs for the sling. I've tried two different slings and there just isn't enough clearance between the opening on the studs and the stock for the sling clasp to fully close.
So I was wondering if there was a different type of sling I should try, should I try replacing the studs and if so, anything I should keep in mind with the synthetic stock.
Thanks.

I never had any problems putting a sling on the 597 I think I just bought a cheap one from Walmart it was a good shooting gun till I got a thousand rounds through it

Just had a lot of jams and failure to cycle properly I guess it was due to the clip design poor springs or something I tried different clips and cleaning and lubes and it just never went enough shots without jamming or not cycling new rounds through so I sold it to someone who liked it more than I paid for it

I say a thousand rounds could've been more than that or less not sure just seems like around a couple bricks of ammo and it went downhill
