I've just been going through my AApr'07 American Rifleman.... Cripes! That guy on Pg 22 is a maniac! 1,024 YARDS to one-shot 'yotes - from a quick truck-to-field setup. A 1,450 YARD ballistic compensation table that is 100% dead to rights. Amazing.

Couldn't say... but given that he can take his gun, give it to the writer, and, before the writer fires a shot, tell the writer exactly how many clicks he should adjust to hit a rock at over 800yds - compensating for range, wind, and temperature - and the writer hits the rock on the first round... I think the number of wounded 'yotes will be pretty small.

His wounded coyote would've gone unnoticed amongst all those crippled from the arial gunning-
Sometimes coyote work is more than a hobby TrapprDave. Sometimes a wounded animal is plan B.

I was taught that if you ever had to deal with a pack of canines/lupines that were hungry & hunting, don't shoot to kill. Shoot to maim. Ther rest of the pack will run/turn on the wounded one(s) and give you some breathing room.

Ther rest of the pack will run/turn on the wounded one(s) and give you some breathing room. You want to inflict as much pain as possible. I quick kill doesn't affect them at all, but a fellow pack member or two in dire pain will get their full attention. That is my understanding anyway.

personally i could care less if I injure a yote' or not. I really don't care if it dies slowly or quickly.

I agree. That is a poor comment to post on an internet site. Comments like that are best kept between your buddies. I hope you were just kidding. No animal should suffer!
