I was getting ready to leave for work this morning and I heard this loud screaming noise and my inside dog went ballistic. I ran out the side door and my dad comes running out of my garage and asks me if it was me making the sound and of course I said no. Well all of a sudden the screaming started again and then it was followed by all kinds of yipping and howling. The yotes had SOMETHING right at the edge where the woods and the yard meets. I had grabbed a spotlight but could not see a thing. The light didn't disturb them one bit because they just kept on yipping and howling and tearing apart whatever they had ahold of. I didn't head off in the woods because I was dressed for work and did not want to muddy up a nice set of dress shoes so I didn't go any further than the back yard but the game is on come tonight.

It was most likely one of your barn cats. h.h.

Well I don't have any barn cats but I have trapped numerous feral cats out there. I was guessing either a cat or was even curious if it could have been a turkey. There is a large population of turkey right behind my house and my wife even said she saw them this morning out there. What does a turkey sound like when it is being attacked?

Well turkesy don't "scream". if it was still a dark they would be on the roost.
I wouldn't think a domestic cat would scream either - at least not for very long.

I have less than 2 hours left here at work today so when I get home I will start my investigation on what they had ahold of. Hopefully I can bring a dog or two back with me also. My dad just got up here from Florida last Thursday so he is itching to hunt some coyotes. That was the first thing he said this morning after we hard them. "Son, tell me why we haven't been out hunting yotes yet" ummm, I dunno, umm, the wifey has had me busy....

Harley? What happened to Harley? You fellas think that maybe those weren't yotes at all and perhaps it was Bigfoot? Perhaps Bigfoot was a Ms. Bigfoot and she took a likin' to Harley.......

whoa settle down boys. It's gonna take a meaner critter than what the state of Indiana has to take out me out. And if you think bog foot is big then you need to see my father-in-law. ;D
I walked all around the woods and did not see anything that would point out what I had heard. I did find a large pile of feathers but there was no blood around it so I figured it had been there a while. I tried calling them that evening but never did get anything to come in other than a coon. Oh well, I am sure they will be back and I know I will still be out calling too.

We were worried. Just passed 1,000 members, wouldn't do to lose one now.
