Nice job! Congratulations! That was a big ole gobbler! I figure anytime I get one near 25 lbs an added bonus!

What a great way to spend spring break! Nominating you for Dad of the year. Seriously, young hunters generally grow to be good adults. My experience...

lineman453, good things are a result of your pictures and post. Motivated me to talk to my 14 year old grandson about becoming a hunter. For his 10 year old Christmas I gave him a .22 pistol. For his 11th I gave him a .410. Trained him on both. Never thought about taking him hunting. Go figure. So, today I gave him one of my turkey hunting books and told him if he is interested that I will get a 20 gauge for him and spend next spring break turkey hunting. In the meantime I am going to take him with me during the Spring IN turkey season and focus on getting him ready for the deer season. Hard to tell with a 14 year old (LOL) but he seems excited. Hope it sticks..... Heck, I had a potential young hunter right under my nose and it took your post to make me realize it. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks. Wake up call.....

Jimstc my sons been going since he was 6. And he loves it as much or more than I do!!! I'll walk him for miles some days chasin birds no complaints, he's right back up the next day ready to go. For me it's about making it fun and rewarding for the both of us, I could care less if I ever hunt myself again, I have more fun seeing him harvest animals and now I'm getting into the filming side of it so we can relive it in the offseason lol Scott

What was that great film director's name? Cecil B Demille? First father of the year then the Emmys/Oscars Director of the Year. Hey, it is all a progression of life.
