Deer are supposed to be really hard on white pine .... many guys protect the lead shoot to keep deer from killing the trees. True..I planted 150 white pine seedlings in 2010 and in 1 month the deer pulled up every one of them..bit the tops off and pulled them completely out of the ground..I strongly suggest tree tubes.
