I've been there a few times, but never for turkeys. I don't where you're at, but it's a pretty neat place to spend a weekend if you can swing a scouting trip in between now and then.

thanks, its 4.5 hours south of me here in Indiana. I've been there a few times, but never for turkeys. I don't where you're at, but it's a pretty neat place to spend a weekend if you can swing a scouting trip in between now and then.

PM me 76 Chevy..I have maps and scouting data where I hunted LBL every year for about 10 years, we killed birds, but they are the toughest birds I've hunted..they are killable, but leave the mouth calls at home, these birds are call shy..and they like to play peek a boo..tough birds...pm me

I live 10 miles from LBL, I have hunted there many times. LBL is 170,000 acres of mostly big hardwood forest. There are a lot of turkeys in LBL but they are often hard to call in. They like to stay on the ridge tops and strut and gobble, but they don't seem to want to come to your calls. And since 93% of LBL is forest it can be very hard to pinpoint where a roost tree is.
It's a scenic place with a lot of turkeys if you can find them amongst the tens of thousands of acres of ridges and forest.
In case your wondering about which hunting areas/units are best. The truth is they all pretty much look the same and offer the same thing. Any area in LBL could potentially be a good Turkey hunting spot.
You must buy a Kentucky NR License and an LBL user Permit to hunt LBL.

Also, if you want to spend more time in LBL. After the Quota Hunts, LBL is open to public Turkey hunting for a few weeks.
