Dead ducks in Henderson Kentuckywww.courierpress.com/news/2008/mar/27/rotting-ducks-found-in-bags/?gleaner=1/Local officials are seeking the public's help in determining who left 40 to 50 duck carcasses in Happy Acres subdivision on Wednesday. The ducks were found rotting in seven garbage bags along Schuette Lane next to property owned by Denise Storey. The ducks had orange flagging tags attached to their bodies, said Pauline Allen, solid waste coordinator for Henderson, Union, Webster and McLean counties. Disposal of garbage or waste without someone's permission on private or public lands is criminal littering, a misdemeanor that can lead to a $500 fine and/or a year in jail. Lt. Greg Noel with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources said there may also be issues of having more ducks than is legally allowed and of wanton waste. "The bottom line is it's just an irresponsible way to dispose of something," he said, adding that those with information should contact him at 270-952-2421. Allen can be reached at 830-7544.
