A friend of mine works on a local horse farm and she told me today that she saw a doe with two spotted fawns sometime within the last week while running fencelines. I have no reason to doubt the truth of her statement. Could they really have been born that late?

The doe would of had to been bred in July..not sure about that.

She never said how big they were, so I assume that they could have been rather large and almost to the point of losing spots. That would be more feasible than fawns born in January.

IDK I have seen spotted fawns late Sept before. Anything is possible I guess, but it is unlikely as deer shed their summer coats for their winter one's and that should do away with the spots I would think.
