No farms anywhere close to here. We have a good population of both reds and greys around.

Make sure the taxidermist has done fox before. Fox are a hard animal to get to look right. Check if he has pictures of fox he has done. I would hate for a beautiful animal like that to come back looking like a circus clown.

I would hate for a beautiful animal like that to come back looking like a circus clown. I've had him do 3 deer 2 life size bear, 3 shoulder mount bear, few fish and so far so good. I have warned him several time's to not be surprised if I tell him to keep it if I don't think it's worth paying for. I know small animals are hard to do and reminded him this fox had to be rite.

Hey budd...can you elaborate on the title, "Cross Fox?" A very cool animal but one with which I am not familiar.

cross fox is a color phase. The pelts bring a premium. The dark hairs form a cross pattern across the shoulders and down the back.
some think they are crosses between greys and reds. They are actually a red fox color phase, partially melanistic

We had a solid black and a red living here on my property for three years. We never did see a carry over to the kits that played in our drive way every spring.
