I hunted the 1st firearms season this past weekend along with 3 others. We all had antlerless tags only. In 3 days of hunting, only 2 doe were spotted and in hindsight, thankfully none were taken. Our area of IL is most definitely still hurting form the EHD. If there is an upside to it, we did spot numerous small bucks so maybe this is something to be hopefull about. Just really happy that I decided to do a trip to Colorado instead of buying buck tags for IL this year!!

Shotgun ended up @ 76,547 for this season versus 74,318 for 2013
When you add up muzzleloader and bow the total for the season for 2014 (so far) is 130,809 versus 129,822 for 2013.
Very similar totals all the way around.
