Are you happy using a dot for hunting. Other option was going with fiber optic sights but i liked shooting a red dot before. Didnt know how they worked for hunting in low light

Decided on the Bushnell Trophy with both green and red. This seems to be a really nice scope for the price. Mounted it and sighted it in with light loads and then switched to 180g Buffalo Bore and now I can't wait for next year.

I put a Millet red dot on my Marlin .357. Using the setup w/ 180 gr Buffalo Bore bullets, I dropped dropped two anterless deer within seconds of each last year and this year.
The red dot does great in low light - I switched to it because I realized I couldn't see through the iron sights with 10-15 min of legal light left when sitting in the woods.

A red dot would work well in low light. Since there is no magnification, you simply leave both eyes open, with one looking at the deer and the other at the dot in the optic. Your brain will superimpose the red dot on the deer.
