The ads are put there by Google. Woody has no control over the ads and won't have any control over them as long as the site is free.
They usually cycle through in a few days, though I've got a bad feeling we'll be seeing more from him in the next few months...

Look down in the bottom right of the ad... It says paid for by Proboards. Maybe it's time to look for a new host for the forums.

Not sure why it says that... From what I understand, the ads are by Google, and often times they "key" in on the topic being discussed and have ads related to that. Other times (like now with the Obama, and the Larry the Cable Guy ads) they will run for a certain amount of time, I assume because the people/product being advertised paid for them to be up that amount of time. From time to time, you will see a "gay cruise line" advertised. Don't think they get much business from here either.  Like I said before, the ads are the only way Woody can keep the site free.  I'm sure Woody will be along at some point to correct me on my information! |

LMAO!!!!!!!!! I've never seen the Gay Cruise either. I'm thinking they talk about how "long" their boat is versus the other cruise lines?  |

You can bet that Obama is paying for all the ads that are popping up. Whether he is paying Pro-Boards or Google.
The only control that we have over ads is to pay Pro-Boards XX amount of dollars to get an ad free board. I say XX amount of dollars as that will vary on the amount of members and traffic.. A board the size of ours would be substantial.
I don't have the money to do that so in the meantime my best suggestion is to just ignore the ads if we aren't buying what they are sellling. My guess would be that not many on here are buying Obama.
This ad is probably running on all Pro-boards boards.
I also look for his ad to quit by tomorrow as the primaries wil be over for the most part.
We might get hit again in the general election.
Some times the Google ads will key in on what we are talking about as Google runs a Bot program on a LOT of boards that they advertise on. The more that we talk about Obama or Hillary or Huckabee or Gay Cruise Lines the more likely an ad by them will pop up.
I just ignore the ads - for the most part. Every now and then a good hunting related ad is shown. I'll check them out.
