This past weekend, my 2 brothers and myself and our father went to South Dakota for the opening weekend of pheasant season. We hunted all private ground with landowners/farmers that have been in the area for a couple generations. Wonderful people and we had an awesome time, I can't wait to get back next year! Below are a few pictures from the trip. Everyone in the group got their limit all 3 days. Here's my Sweet 16 I hunted with. Here's part of the group before we started our first field walk on opening day...roughly 11:59am. My first rooster of the hunt, nearly perfect condition...would've been a candidate for a nice mount! here's our limit on the second day, my brothers, myself and dad Just a typical county road, haha. We liked to do some exploring in the mornings after breakfast since we couldn't start hunting til noon. What do you do when you get your limit by 2:30? Head to prairie dog town! Here's a private lake on the families property where we went fishing one evening, can't beat that view... here's my last South Dakota rooster for the 2014 season...a bittersweet ending to a long day of walking Here's a neat mount of a waterfowl scene. It's hanging in Pete's Taxidermy in Burke, S.D. If you're ever in the area you have to stop in!

Just a note, the picture of the limit from day 2 is the whole groups...not just the 4 of us!
