I would think regardless of your location your area would need at least 2-3 years to recover from the impact of EHD.

Both my areas in IL and IN got hit the past couple years. Where I hunt in Illinois it may take a couple years to build back up but luckily for me our place in Indiana seems to have more deer then people in that county so I imagine as long as we don't get hit again next year things will be almost back to normal.

When Washington County go hit a few years back it took more than a couple of years to bounce back. But a big part of that was due to the local Amish family who killed anything that moved regardless of deer numbers.
It seems to have improved quite a bit over the last 2-3 years.

There's a few EHD cases in some Central Ky counties. Nelson county around Bardstown seems to be the worse. Not found any EHD victims on my property or in the county.

It's been two years here. From camera pictures they have mostly recovered. (Might even be increased from years past. ) We never completely filled our tags so changing from a 4 doe county to 3 isn't much different except no second doe season with gun. We currently, if game camera is accurate, have some nicer 8 point bucks if they ever return during daylight hours.

I forgot what a deer looks like, 5 sits and no deer. Ehd was rampant here last year and I suspect this year to. No water running in creeks and stagnant water sitting, doesn't look to be a rebound year here again. The DNR will tell me it's just pockets of ehd, and left the doe count at 8 again this year. Doesn't make sense to me.

Back in 2007, up in Indiana; I was going to Deer hunt private property located in Pike County, Indiana, but the owner said he was finding all kinds of dead Deer on his place. So, I just hunted on my 12 acre hunting spot on my own property. It will take 3-5 years before your area recovers it's numbers, like it was before last year.

Well lets see since we were hit with both strains of EHD two years running its not going to happen quickly .Also in general I think it all depends on the hunting pressure/ allowed number of antlerless tags in the areas we all hunt the number of predators in that area and other factors such as hard winters and the like .I do not look for a rebound here for possibly 3 to 5 years from now .Its all relative to the herds size and other factors .

Rumor has been the neighbor had dep tags this summer as well. Have not confirmed that yet. That wouldn't help the situation either.
