One of the stands at my place is called "the Office" because it's nestled in the middle of a cluster of oaks like you are in a little cubicle. This year there are lots of acorns dropping in this area and lots of deer poop. I decided this might be a good option for me to sit with my daughter so I added a second hang on stand. You can see the original stand in the middle of the cluster. It faces NW. The new stand is 4-5 feet higher and faces West. This will be a great option for sitting together with daughter or wife and possibly filming. I'm excited about it!

Looks like a good set up. I am sure something good will happen there this fall.

There is a nice, solid wooden ladder that takes you up to a 2x3 foot platform 15' up. Then you can step over to the lower hang on stand which has a platform about even with the wooden ladder platform, or you can climb up a couple screw in steps to the higher hang on stand which is about 20' up. A good harness is a must.

thirty feet Am i missing something here, how do you fly??? lol There is no chance on earth of me going up that height, i pay someone to clean my top windows in my house.
Anyway yesterday was the annual shooting test that we have to take, and i passed so i have a job for another year, Not too pleased with the way i shot the target, but i blew one hole in the deer silhouette with the ten shots from all the disciplines we have to go through. That is two at a hundred yards sitting or prone, two sitting at seventy yards, two standing at fifty yards, two from a nine foot heigh seat(i just managed not to get dizzy up there, lol) and two at very short range as though it would be humane dispatch of a road casualty at fifteen yards. The short range is the strange one because you are actually having to put the scope right on the top of its head for the bullet to drop into the brain. Off subject but i did go up a high seat, lol regards Billy

I believe there are several folks over here that would benefit enormously from some sort of shooting test.
There is one thing for certain, the only right height for hunting is the height that you are comfortable at.

Back when I was in school working on my geology degree, we were out in the field one day looking at road cuts and outcrops. The instructors gave us the advice, "Don't climb any higher than you are comfortable falling."
The same advice holds true to tree stands and hunting.
