I shot a banded dove today at Goose Pond. Has anyone here seen one before? The guys I hunt with said it is the first they've seen.

Congrats! I got one 3 years ago near Columbus. They are so small there are almost easy to miss! There is a website you can enter the number from the band on to see where/when it was banded. I can't recall it off the top of my head, but am sure there is a link on DNR/FWA website to it.

Cool nice bonus to the hunt. Dnr started banding doves about 8 years ago or more usually at their properties like gp

I finally got the information back. It was banded in Greene County on 8/11/14, presumably at Goose Pond. It also said it was hatched there.

Very cool! You don't see too many. They banded quite a few that showed up at JP last year. Most dove bands I've ever seen all my life in one day.
