The Indiana DNR has changed it's ruling on nuisance Mute Swans.
Nuisance Wild Animals (312 IAC 9-3-15): •Allows private property owners to use legal methods to take a nuisance mute swan on their own property without a permit, which already is allowed for raccoons, opossums, and several other species
Some folks might say how could you shoot the beautiful bird but those folks have no idea how dominating they will become of and area they consider their own.

A wiffleball ball bat to the head or a bb to the rear end usually puts them back into place. Got one on my lake now and he thinks he owns it. Not good with kids either.

If I was on a lake and was attacked by a Mute, I'd grab it's neck with one hand, head with the other, twist & pull, and take a beating until the beating stopped. Problem solved. Since when is protecting yourself illegal?

The Saint Joe river in Elkhart county is full of them, they roost on the islands and in the yards of homes. The state of Michigan has been working with conservation groups to greatly reduce their numbers because it is believed that they are responsible for the declining numbers of nesting Loons.
