Where you located? How large and are you looking to plant and what will you be pulling it with (ATV, Tractor/size). I ask as there are 2-3 potential options for you. Check around your area and see if there is someone that rents a plotmaster. Used to be a couple of places here in southwest Indiana that did. I rented one just to see how it worked, but decided that since majority of my plots were 1/4 to 1/2 acre in size, it was easier to broadcast millet, milo, sunflower, etc. and either lightly till (tines barely ruffling dirt) or roll it in. Not quite as effective as the plotmaster, but it is how I do it now and seems to work fairly well.
If you are pulling it with a decent sized tractor, check with your local SWCD office as some of them have seed drills you can rent.
If you are any where close to sw Indiana, give me a shout and you can use my tiller (6') to get them in if need be.

Personally unless you want to spend some $$$$$ I would rent your counties no till drill or seeder. When I need to seed alfalfa or drill bean's thats what I use. I believe every county extension service offer's them. I believe our's (Switz Co) is like $3.00 or $4.00 per acre to use. The drill is 6 ft wide the Brillion seeder is 8 ft I believe.

I checked with our swcd office tonight while at our board meeting and that is right on the money to rent their drill.
