Hunted for the last time this a.m. for the regular season goose and boy was it a good one. possibly the most AWESOME goose hunt i've been on. We found these birds yesterday afternoon back in our spot we've banged them in few other times this year. We knew they were comin... just didtnt know when.... last weekend we had to wait till 11:30.
9 o'clock rolls around and i can barely see past my last decoy and sure enough you can hear them comin from the east. And you can telll its a huge flock just by the sound... I just clucked a few times to let them know we were in the field and like 2 kids in a candy store we watch about 80 birds come out of the fog.... All of them locked... and boy were they beaded on the bigfoots. At about 10 paces "Gimp" and i sit up and let em have it.... Well......
i did.... not sure what he was doin After some mixed communication on how many birds were down (thats my excuse for you gimp) ... the rest headed back into the fog and out of sight in a hurry. Get those birds picked up and hear more comin from the same direction... Luckily the fog had my back and covered me because i was about 20 yards from my blind at hte time and had to get back. Flop my big butt down and give few clucks..... and o my... Same thing out of about 12 birds... right in our grill and Gimp let the back bird have it. I did take some pretty awesome pics and should be able to load them up this week... the computer guy comin out to install my stuff from the new camera. Hope you guys did well!!
