Well looks like myself and the rest of the crew is headed for the south zone in the morning in search for the elusive drake wigeon... ( Well.... i am anyway .. they can shoot all the mallard they want ). I am quite jacked about gettin to play with the ducks again!I am not however... jacked about gettin up at 3am. ahhhhh but that hen that mocks my comeback call will make things worthwhile.

Welt! ... i heard him... but thats it. Very few birds where we HAD!! to set up... due to the motor battery somehow dyin after shuttin it off this mornin to decide which part we wanted to hunt. Dunno if it was a short in a light somewhere or what but... pretty much ruined our day. Thank god we went UP stream ... cuz we had about a 2 hour float back DOWN stream to the boat launch. Called our hunt very short because there was no sense in shootin ducks if you cant retrieve them. Did find a hot spot on the way out.. but after today... i not goin back down there tomorrow.. i got some geese about 3 miles from my front door i think i will try instead. None the less.. .it was an experience! Did see 2 bald eagles!

broke a little ice this morning in some backwaters, it was really tough to get the ducks to finish, and there wasn't very many of them around. Still great weather, the geese were flying.
